My second year at The Royal Northern College of Music is now complete and what a fantastic year it has been!
Highlights
Top highlights of my second year were participating in the chorus for two RNCM opera productions, which were: Puccini's 'Suor Angelica' directed by Robert Chevara and Vaughan Williams' 'The Pilgrim's Progress' directed by Jonathan Cocker. Working alongside talented professionals and fellow students was extremely inspiring and it was a joy to make music together!
The Final Term
I had a wonderful time performing in the 'James Martin Oncken Song Prize'. It was a pleasure to work with my accompanist and good friend, Max Bilbe. Max and I perform regularly throughout the North, with a particular highlight for us being the 'Parbold Douglas Young Musicians' Showcase Concert' in April last year.
The year came to an end in the form of a recital on Tuesday 11th June. I thoroughly enjoyed performing to a lovely audience of family and friends with accompanist Catherine Hall-Smith. Repertoire included:
'At The Ball' - Tchaikovsky
'Pleading' - Elgar
'Das Erste Veilchen' - Mendelssohn
'Wer hat dies Liedlein erdacht?' - Mahler
'Giunse al fin, il momento' - Mozart
'A Brown Bird Singing' - Wood
'Ständchen' - Schubert
'Lauf der Welt' - Grieg
'Oliver Cromwell' - Britten

Summer 2019
My summer will once again be jam-packed with music making! I am very excited to be returning to the BBC Proms this year; singing in the BBC Proms Youth Choir in 'Prom 14: The Creation' with the BBC Philharmonic under Omer Meir Wellber.
I will then travel to Bassano del Grappa - Italy, where I shall participate in Melofonetica's 'Veneto Opera Summer School'. Here, I will be coached on the art of Italian singing by wonderful professionals in a beautiful and inspiring setting. I am thrilled to have been cast the principal role of 'Pisandro' in Monteverdi's 'Il ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria' and to have the chance to perform to Italian audiences in venues such as 'Asolo Opera House' and 'Casa Malipiero'.
I am incredibly excited for this adventure!
